This course is designed to give people an understanding of how and why a person may communicate distress or needs through challenging behaviour.
Positive Behaviour Management teaches us to recognise and reduce triggers (causes of behaviour) and use effective communication to promote de-escalation.
The course will enable people to have a more positive understanding towards people who challenge, which will give confidence in de-escalation techniques.
The course is tailored towards Primary Prevention Strategies, which are designed to reduce the need for physical intervention.
Connective Care Education delivers Positive Behaviour Management in line with the Restraint Reduction Network guidelines and is accreditted by the Institute of Conflict Management.
